MCDANIEL COLLEGE STUDENTS READ TO STUDENTS AT WESTMINSTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS PART OF “READ ACROSS AMERICA”
McDaniel students will read to students on Thursday, March 2, and Friday, March 3, as part of the national “Read Across America” celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday
McDaniel College students will read to students at Westminster Elementary School as part of the national “Read Across America” celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
• Thursday, March 2
o Members of McDaniel College’s football, men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams will join with other Westminster community members, including Westminster Mayor Kevin Utz, Westminster police officers and others, to read to elementary school students in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday from approximately 11:30 a.m.– 2:30 p.m. Many of the elementary students will also be dressed up as their favorite storybook characters on this day.
• Friday, March 3
o McDaniel Student Alumni Council members will arrive at the school at approximately 9:15 a.m. They will read to students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade, from approximately 9:30–10 a.m. This event is being organized in partnership with the GFCW Woman’s Club of Westminster, which will provide free books to the elementary school students.
